Leisureville Web Site
We stayed at
the Leisureville Resort on the first weekend of September
2010. Leisureville is easy to find on the eastern side of
Wynyard as you approach from the Bass Highway if travelling
from Launceston. It is well sign-posted with signs saying
"350 metres" clearly visible if travelling from
either direction. We arrived at about 6pm and all the arrangements
were in place as booked and the welcome was warm and friendly.
There is a wide
range of accommodation options at Leisureville ranging from
standard "cabins" through to the Superior Villas
- one of which we had booked. The villa we stayed could have
slept 6 very comfortably. It was a two bedroom with a comfortable
QS bed in the main bedroom and twin two bunk accommodation
in the other which would have slept four with ease. Great
accommodation options for families which are becoming harder
to find these days!
The villa was
fully fitted out for a family stay with complete kitchen (and
rangehood), stove and microwave with a substantial fridge.
(The kitchen was in fact bigger than ours at home!) There
was an auto washing machine in the spacious bathroom so for
a family stay of any length of time, this was an ideal set
up.
To simply say
the villa was immaculately clean is an understatement. The
small things you notice when you travel around include, to
me, things like those slim line venetian blinds! Now I have
these at home and know how hard they are to keep clean. At
Leisureville they were "like new". The bathroom
was immaculate, as was the the kitchen and all cupboards.
In short, a credit to their cleaning staff.
Refreshingly,
the TV was a flat screen digital and came complete with DVD
player. I note that DVD's are available on loan from the office
so this would be great for travelling families. The room was
toasty warm from the air conditioning / heat pump installed
in the lounge room and lounge was very comfortable and modern
with seating for six.
Leisureville
is located across the road from a beach but the better option
is their indoor heated pool and spa - again, well maintained
and clean and safe as these things need to be. The kids who
there over our weekend stay just loved it. There is also a
recreation room with 8 ball table and other entertainment
devices to keep the younger ones happy.
Wireless broadband
is available on site with the charge at a handy $8 for 24
hours (as at September 2010) and was serviceable. Had we been
in the mood for tennis - no problems - a tennis court on hand
with equipment available from the reception area. There are
also three free electric BBQs around the site for those warmer
evenings.
Best of all for
us was Bruce's licenced cafe at the entrance to Leisureville
which had breakfasts on tap from 8am! No cooking! Great weekend
away!!
For a travelling
couple or family, Leisureville is a great option at Wynyard
- well priced, quiet, good atmosphere, clean and comfortable
with lots of "stuff" for the kids to do. At JustTasmania.com
we happily recommend it!
